Seared Ahi Tuna Salad
12 ounces ahi tuna
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
1/4 teaspoon red pepper chili flakes
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup fresh baby arugula
1 endive - roughly sliced
honey soy vinaigrette
- Season tuna with salt.
- Into a small bowl mix: sesame seeds and chili pepper flakes. Press mixture onto the sides of the tuna.
- Place a small non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of canola oil. When hot add tuna and sear on each side, approximately 1-2 minutes depending on thickness of tuna (if you prefer your tuna more done cook it to desired doneness). Slice.
- Into bowl add arugula and endive. Toss with vinaigrette. Top with sliced tuna.
